FALL WILDFLOWER HIKE - SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2011 9:00 AM – NOON
Join us for a leisurely 2.5 mile stroll along the CREW Marsh Trails to look for and identify a fascinating array of fall-blooming wildflowers, grasses and more. The trails take on a whole different feel in the fall when it’s wetter and the fall flowers are glorious in their oranges and yellows.
Registration required. Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and bring water to drink. Cameras and binoculars are optional. Cost: Free, but donations are always appreciated.
MONTHLY GUIDED HIKES
Third Tuesdays, November – April
CREW volunteer, Dr. David Cooper, leads monthly guided hikes at the CREW Trails on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, November through April, from 9AM to noon. Dr. Cooper is a Florida Master Naturalist
and an extraordinary hike leader. His sense of humor and in-depth knowledge of Florida’s ecology will entertain and inform you!

BIRD ROOKERY SWAMP HIKES
Every Wednesday, January – March 2012 – 9:00 AM – noon
Come hike CREW’s newest trails at Bird Rookery Swamp, located near the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in Collier County, with CREW volunteer, George Luther. He’ll entertain and inform you as you hike 2 – 3 miles of the 12 miles of trails to give you a taste of a beautiful bottomland hardwood swamp.

NEW FOR 2011-2012 – STROLLING SCIENCE SEMINAR SERIES - FOR ADULTS ONLY
Strolling Science Seminars for Adults
CREW’s Strolling Science Seminars are a series of six half-day scholarly hikes for adults at the CREW Trails. Each seminar engages you in citizen science on a specific topic related to the watershed and wildlife of CREW. Seminar leaders are experts in their fields. Gain in-depth knowledge, hands-on field experiences, and get access to online resources. You’ll be able to go home and engage in a citizen science project of your choosing. Register for one or all six seminars. Participants who complete all six will receive a certificate. Seminar hours: 9:00 AM — 12:00 PM. Fee per seminar: $10 CREW Members, $15 non-members, or for the whole series $50 for CREW members/$75 non-members
