Sketches of CREW

This Workshop has been CANCELLED. We will try to re-schedule in early 2012.

Creative journaling with Nature workshop with Dr. Bill Hammond

Saturday, December 17, 2011 – 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

$25 for CREW Members / $35 non-members

Since the earliest days in the growth of human culture it has been important to connect to experiences in life and nature through story, graphic depictions, and later through the written word. Bill Hammond will guide you in an exploration of your creative thoughts, growing your skill in field observations, and expressing your insights into metaphor and richness in nature. We know from brain research that what you translate to your journal will bond with you in long term memory. Our goal for the day is to relax, play, and to explore our connections to nature, expand our skill in observing and seeing more insightfully while growing our personal creativity.

We will work on the CREW trails in both group activities and solo time playing with a wide variety of journaling tools. If you have watercolors or color pens or pencils or other favorite art materials bring them along. We will provide starter journals and a variety of supplies at our base station. You can make your own journal from these materials at the workshop or use one of the bound journals available. You may want to bring a field seat or sitting pad.

Dress for being outdoors throughout the day and don’t forget sun protection. Bring a sack lunch. Drinks will be provided.

Space is limited so register early! For more information call 239-657-2253 or email eecrew@earthlink.net.

To register, send the payment with names of participants, phone #, and email address to CREW Land & Water Trust, 23998 Corkscrew Road, Estero, FL 33928.
