A trip inside the Corkscrew Marsh

Visitors to the CREW Marsh Trail who hike to the observation are rewarded with a grand, sweeeping view of the 5,000-acre sawgrass marsh which is the headwaters for the watershed. Close to the tower, visitors see a mix of sawgrass and willow, which is native but overtaking the marsh in several areas. To see what the marsh should look like, without the encroaching willow, takes an airboat ride. Last week we had that opportunity and hope you’ll enjoy this gallery of images showing the diversity of plants in the marsh.
