FYI & FAQ…
Bird Rookery Swamp, CREW Flint Pen Strand, CREW Cypress Dome Trail, and CREW Marsh Trails are all open to the public from sunrise to sunset.
Please continue to practice social distancing while visiting our CREW trails.
Bird Rookery Swamp:
The final phase of the boardwalk construction is complete! The entire 12-mile loop is clearly marked, but sections of the trail are difficult to pass with down trees and “wash-out” erosion on some narrow sections. Alligators will warm themselves on the trail. Please do not attempt to force them to move when you pass.
CREW Marsh Trails:
Some areas will become inundated with water after a heavy rain. Prepare for some ankle-calf deep water on the trails.
Cypress Dome Trails:
Check HUNT DATES. Trails are always open to everyone, however if you prefer to visit a trail without hunting, try the CREW Marsh Trails around the corner on Corkscrew Rd., during quota hunts. The recently widened Wild Coffee Trail winds through thigh-high water over roots and cypress knees. Green and Yellow Trails are freshly marked and will have ankle deep water during the rainy season, especially after a heavy rain.
Flint Pen Strand Trails:
Check HUNT DATES. Hunting takes place north of Flint Pen Strand trail systems. Please stay on the designated trails. The trail is narrow and winding with some sand and roots/rocks. The trail is now accumulating ankle to calf deep water in places, especially after a heavy rain.
