CREW encourages parents to bring the kids out to the CREW Trails and enjoy nature together. Spending time in nature improves health and spirit as well as learning and attention span. This year families will be delighted with four specially designed events just for you!
Read the Sky: Stargazing and Storytelling—a Family Literacy Event – January 20, 2012—7:00—9:00 PM

This starry event combines astronomy lessons with a giant telescope with stories from children’s books and sky field guides. Astronomy Gal, Linda Jacobson will led the sky-gazing session, while CREW Environmental Educator, Deb Hanson, provides the stories. We’ll even include book lists for you to take home to continue your learning journey.

Sunset Sunday with S’mores – Re-scheduled to FEBRUARY 26, 2012 – 5:30 – 7:30 PM

This can only mean a short hike and lots of fun around the campfire! Hope for good weather and come eat gooey s’mores with us!

Birds, Bugs, and Bears Family Hike – March 10, 2012, 9:00 AM—12:00 PM
This kid-friendly hike is a senses-on exploration of critters, tracks, scat, feathers, skulls, and more! Learn to use field guides and cool nature apps to ID critters. We’ll even throw in some great nature stories to tickle your funny bone!
Go Geocaching! – April 14, 2012, 9:00 AM—1:00 PM
Our geocaching heroes—Kenny Jenkins, Milla Voellinger, and Pete Corradino are coordinating two geocaching days at the CREW trails (December 10th and this one). This is a high-tech scavenger hunt for treasures along the trails. There’s always a special surprise in store!
