Brenda Brooks has served as the Executive Director for the CREW Land & Water Trust since 2008 after coming on board as the environmental education specialist in 2005. Her vision and energy helped move the CREW Trust forward through the purchase of additional lands in and around the watershed, expanding education and outreach programs, improving and expanding the trail systems and raising awareness of water issues in Southwest Florida. Brenda has a M.S. in Environmental Science from Florida Gulf Coast University and a B.S. degree in Environmental Science & Geography from Stetson University. Contact Brenda at

CREW Trust Executive Director Brenda Brooks

Jayne Johnston joined the CREW Trust staff in January 2020. She is a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and completed an internship with the CREW Trust in summer 2017. Jayne also started her second career as a volunteer coordinator for shorebird stewards with the Audubon of Southwest Florida, office manager at the Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium, part time panther outreach specialist and full-time wildlife assistance biologist with Florida Fish and Wildlife (FWC) and part time naturalist leading kayak and boat tours for Tarpon Bay Explorers at J. Allison Vincent is the Communications Director for CREW Land & Water Trust. Prior to joining the staff in 2019, Allison was the Communications Director for Super Science and Amazing Art, an educational entertainment company in SWFL. She has a B.A. in anthropology with a focus in archaeology from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida. Contact Allison at

Sarah Buhler is a Senior at Florida Gulf Coast University pursuing a B.A. in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Ecology and Environmental Assessment. She is also pursuing a minor in Education. Sarah takes special interest in the local flora and fauna of the SWFL region, and has excitement for teaching others about the natural landscape of SWFL. Sarah has volunteered throughout her college years at organizations such as the Gulf Coast Humane Society, Wings of Hope Panther Posse and the Florida Gulf Coast University Food Forest. Sarah has a passion for education and loves inspiring students to grow their love for nature.

Vanessa Kraft is a fall 2020 intern from FGCU. She is a senior majoring in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Ecology & Environmental Assessment, Climate Change minor, and passionate for environmental education. She was born and raised in West Palm Beach and enjoys paddle boarding, going to the beach, and rollerblading. She is very excited to be interning with CREW, learning more about us, and growing her skills, knowledge, and networking in environmental education.
