The Flint Pen Strand Trail officially opened November 2018 with the first set of trails: the Billy G. Cobb Memorial Trail (Red Trail), the blue trail (a shortcut on the red trail) and a yellow multi-use trail.
The red trail offers a challenging 1.5-mile hike through pine flatwoods, old homesteads and oak hammocks with views of the Kehl Canal. The trail is seasonally wet, offering wet-walk enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy hikes during the rainy season.
More trails are being planned.
